General notes

The conference will take place in the Kollegienhaus, which is located at Petersplatz 1, 4001 Basel, Switzerland (see map below). The Bildungszentrum 21, the hotel where all conference participants will stay during the conference, is located at Missionsstrasse 21, 4055 Basel, Switzerland.

After you have arrived in Basel, please come to the Kollegienhaus first for registration. If there is enough time, you can bring your luggage to the hotel before the conference begins. In case you are running a little late, there will be enough room to store your luggage in the Kollegienhaus. You can then take it with you to the hotel in the evening of the first day, right after dinner.

Some remarks:

  1. There are two train stations in Basel, Basel SBB and Basel Badischer Bahnhof, respectively. Trains coming from Switzerland or France usually stop at Basel SBB, while trains coming from Germany also stop at Basel Badischer Bahnhof.

  2. In Switzerland you do not have to reserve a train ticket in advance to make sure you can really board the train you want to take. Just buy a ticket on the day you need it (e.g. five minutes before the train leaves) and take the train - that is all you need to do.

  3. At registration, you will receive a ticket that allows you to use public transportation for free during your stay in Basel. It is therefore not necessary that you buy a multi-trip ticket when you come to Basel in the first place - a one-trip ticket to get to the Kollegienhaus is sufficient.

  4. Bus schedules can be checked on www.bvb.ch.
